Brandon Raynor's Deep Tissue Massage Course

In general a Deep Tissue Massage course teaches similar techniques to a therapeutic massage course. The difference though is that these techniques are usually applied in Deep Tissue Massage with more pressure and intensity. The Raynor massage course can definitely be seen as a form of a deep tissue massage course. But in addition to that Brandon Raynor massage has added the benefit of using acupressure points and techniques from shiatsu massage as well. (Usually Deep Tissue Massage focuses more on traditional European massage techniques like stroking, percussion, tapotement etc.) Raynor massage courses teach you to think a little bit outside the "deep tissue massage" box.

Raynor massage is probably one of the "deepest" deep tissue massages today.

What is the core message of our Raynor deep tissue massage course? Don't just try to find a tight muscle and work on it in a deep way but primarily on finding the underlying cause for this muscle tightness and release it from its source.

We like to compare it to pulling out weeds in the garden - you need them get by the roots. That means if you have tight back, the tension may actually be coming from your feet or your chest. A deep tissue massage on the back when that tension is related to the feet will only lead to temporary relief. It actually might just cause unnecessary bruising and soreness. But if deep tissue massage is done intelligently - which means by "getting the tension out from its roots" you will be able to achieve a longer lasting release.

The other thing that you will learn in Raynor's Deep Tissue Massage Course is that breathing plays an important role in the release of deep muscle tension and tightness. Many massage therapist are still neglecting this fact. You will get a much quicker release if the person receiving the massage is focusing their breath on the pain areas while you are working on it. This is important because there will be some degree of pain during a deep tissue treatment. If you hold your breath you might end up increasing the tension in the body, which will be counterproductive for what you want to achieve. Holding your breath will make it impossible for the therapist to gradually get into the deeper layers of muscle tightness. Breathing will lead to a deep tissue release, which in turn will enable you to relax more and will enable the therapist to go deeper. In this way the therapist will gradually be able to move towards the source.

Unfortunately most people think that "relaxation massage" should always be light. But in fact, deep tissue massage can produce a much deeper relaxation than conventional light massage. This is because the relaxation takes place on a deeper level.

We are currently offering a 5 day and a 10 day Deep Tissue massage course in London, Dublin and many other locations worldwide.
